Impacts on Right to Carry a Gun

Introduction

In the United States of America, statistics data carried out in 2017 revealed that about 39,773 deaths were related to firearms. The research showed that some committed suicide using weapons, some through homicide, and others due to intervention through polices officers, which was legal. Gun control-right to carry was introduced to enhance self-defense in case of an ambush or unprepared attack. The right to have and use a firearm in the USA is legal and is tabled in the constitution. Although the law is sometimes criticized, with some blaming it for crimes happening, it is evident that since the right to carry a gun was introduced crime level has reduced significantly (Sanjurjo, 2019). There is a process and assessment that an individual has to go through to be given a permit by the legislature if the requirements are established to be met. The law is in line with the constitution of the USA.

Enhancing Policy

The aim to enhance the policy on gun control-right to carry practically reveals the interest to protect those that can be attacked violently without doing anything wrong to others. Guns stand as symbols of violence in the social norms, hence an individual owning a gun might be perceived as violent. This policy aims to ensure the group with the right to hold and have guns are law enforcers (Cook, 2020). This tends to clean the street and reduce the increased number of suicide and homicides using the permitted weapons. The policy also regulates the government’s expenditure to make and hold those guns before owners inquire about having them and the system is mandated to give them out (Yamane, 2017). This policy can be changed by restricting individuals from keeping ammunition and handguns openly in their homes. Another way is to introduce control over who can carry or have a weapon. Lastly, it is important to ensure there is a restriction on using weapons in self-defense outside the home. If the named changes can be implemented, there will be an excellent opportunity to address public needs and accomplish justice related.

Ensuring Safety

Gun control-right to carry addresses public needs through the interest to ensure safety in case of error or mishandling of firearms occurs. For instance, restrictions on gun use will address the circumstances under which one has the right to use a weapon in case of self-defense. Some self-defense situations might be from the firearm owner being wrong and trying to justify they are correct by using the gun (Spitzer, 2020). Restricting a person who can carry the weapon will enhance the individuals with the right mind to do whatever they want under the typical right mindset. Adequate storage of weapons will ensure that no one without legal consent can handle the gun. There will be public safety within the stipulated guidelines on owning and using a firearm.

Role of Policy in Advancing Quality

In the gun control-right-to-carry principle, there are recommendations needed to enhance the success and importance of the policy to all without violating rules. The specific aspect that needs to be improved in this policy is to ensure the total mandating of background checks on private weapon sellers. This idea will reduce the number of crimes because it will be easy to locate the buyer and the seller and the process used during the business. The specific recommendation that would improve the existing policy is through refining development policies by drafting them down as a law to be adhered to by weapon users (Sanjurjo, 2019). This, in turn, will lead to increased prosperity among weapon users as a success. When those policies are evaluated, they will increase accountability through improved decision-making of learning.

Gun control-right-to-carry policy improves delivery by ensuring that weapon holders have rules to ensure that weapons are used correctly. Through the procedure, justice will fall in case an incident occurs; those guidelines will be cross-checked. An example is when a person uses their weapon to threaten another person, this will be against the stipulated approach. Action will be taken against the weapon holder. Criminology theory supports this recommendation by allowing using a firearm if the threat is too significant to handle or it will lead to someone else losing a life. Using the weapon under such circumstances will be correct and in line with the law and theory (Spitzer, 2020). Mental illness and mental health affect the decision-making of an individual. Regular medical checkups will be of greater use to ensure that guns are given to people with their rightful sense of mind.

Conclusion

In conclusion, regarding departmental impacts on scenarios related to gun control-right to carry, it will be wise to ensure all safety aspects are well-checked. Moreover, integration with other departments will be vital to finding solutions. It will be easy to develop a plan and address the possible issue which will result in changing policies. The above approach will help in ensuring the principles are favorable to everyone.
