International Trade Organizations: Impact on Brands’ Development

The international trade organizations consist of agreements and rules established for the trade processed between the members. They are designed to regulate international trade between countries to ensure equal opportunity for economic development with the elimination of discrimination. Since the regulatory function of the international trade organizations induces healthy competition and favorable conditions for growth, it is reasonable to agree with the statement that international brands benefit from international trade organizations.

In the contemporary largely globalized world, international trade organizations play a role of a global connecting body for companies and industries. Their existence is essential since their main role is to promote the free flow of trade. In such a manner, international brands have the opportunity to exchange goods and services globally across the borders according to the demand for goods and services. According to Trulik (n. d.), trade organizations help brands build competitive advantage by engaging in both export and import of goods and services. In such a manner, they reach a larger range of markets and ensure consistency of economic development.

Another evident advantage that is associated with international trade’s positive influence on business operation on a global level is the increase in revenues. Indeed, according to the U. S. Chamber of Commerce (2021), the manufacturing output of some U. S. companies has risen by 80% within the past 25 years. Moreover, decreased competition of international brands is another benefit of trade organizations which is validated by a larger market on a global scale. Companies are capable of “facilitating the geographical decentralization of production, promoting the globalization of consumption, and hence boosting international trade” (Katrakylidis & Madas, 2019, p. 1). Furthermore, a longer product lifespan and enhanced brand reputation are achieved by means of adhering to international trade organizations’ agreements.

In conclusion, the existence of international trade organizations is a pivotal aspect of the contemporary global economy. Companies can facilitate their export and import presence, build stronger growth strategies based on comprehensive demand for services and goods, and ensure an increase in revenues and improvement of reputation. Thus, it is evident that international trade organizations are beneficial for international brands’ development in terms of their economic gains, performance, and competition.
