Human Trafficking: The Law Enforcement Solutions

Human Trafficking.

Narrowed topic/Topic

The research question focuses on examining the viable solutions to the current human trafficking problems. Human trafficking is a criminal justice or criminology issue since it needs law enforcement and reforms as major and practical solutions to the problem. Therefore, human trafficking requires local and international anti-trafficking and other law enforcement departments to combat and implement efforts to control the problem’s intensity globally.

Questioning/Problem

The research question aims to address the problem of human trafficking locally and internationally. According to Walden University LLC (2022), human trafficking is a major hindrance to the democracy of Americans and people of other nationalities. Similarly, the cases of human trafficking, involving, children, teenagers, youths, adolescents, and women, among other vulnerable population groups in society are increasing in the criminal and justice system of the U.S. The Walden University LLC (2022) report also confirms that human trafficking is modern-day slavery that negatively influences the physical and mental health condition of its victims. For instance, because of human trafficking, children and women are victims of sexual and physical abuse (Miller-Perrin & Wurtele, 2017). Moreover, the victims are also vulnerable to forced labor and exploitation, undermining their civil and natural rights (Zimmerman & Kiss, 2017). Human trafficking also increases the risk of substance use disorders (SUD), and post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), among other risky mental health issues that affect trafficked humans (Paulus et al., 2021). Thus, the world needs urgent law enforcement and reforms through anti-trafficking units to control the severity and impacts of human trafficking.

Hypothesis/Wondering

I would like to know if anti-trafficking and other law enforcement solutions will reduce human trafficking globally, regionally, and locally. The research question will assess the different components of anti-trafficking solutions for human trafficking such as arrest, protection, prosecution, et cetera. The research question will also examine the viability, benefits, risks, and ways of improving anti-trafficking efforts aimed to reduce human trafficking.

Research Question

Can international and local anti-trafficking efforts precisely, prosecution, partnerships, prevention, and protection control the prevalence and intensity of human trafficking?
