Combating Alcohol Issues: Law Enforcement

Alcohol, although it is legal for the majority of the population, is the most challenging drug to combat for law enforcement. The Prohibition laws are a prominent example of how this addictive substance has become a norm for society. Many people use alcohol regularly, which is one reason why it is difficult to combat. Moreover, it is highly addictive, although most perceive it as harmless, which also contributes to the difficulties that law enforcement experiences.

The best way to combat drug issues in a community is to create a healthy environment. For example, having rehabilitation programs and support centers that allow former addicts to reintegrate into society can help reduce the number of drug users. Moreover, ensuring that the community is educated on addiction, its consequences, and warning signs are also vital.
