Predicting Joe Biden’s Policy

On the other hand, the difference between the candidates’ ideologies and political views was massive. The election is over, and Joe Biden has managed to win by highlighting that his policy is different from Donald Trump’s one. Biden should take office in January 2021 to become the full-fledged president of the United States of America. However, many people wonder whether the president-elect will keep his promise to heal the politically divided country after his inauguration ceremony. The paper will demonstrate that there is no evidence to claim that Biden will contradict or betray his election campaign message.

To begin with, one should explain why the inauguration ceremony is significant for Biden, focusing on two issues. Firstly, the event will provide the president-elect with official authority to act as the US president. Secondly, the ceremony is essential since it is a ritual that Biden should undertake to be considered a leader of the whole nation (Murphy par. 15). Before it occurs, the president-elect may be forced to deal with Trump’s challenges who do not want to leave his office and concede defeat. However, the current state of affairs reveals that Biden will eventually assume office. Thus, the following issues will show that he will do his best to keep the election promise irrespective of the existing challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, weakened economy, racial issues, and others.

Firstly, Biden’s personality allows supposing that no issues will make the future president deviate from his election message. It refers to the fact that he is one of the most experienced individuals who have ever taken office (Murphy par. 12). It is so because it has taken 48 years for Biden to become the president after becoming a senator (Balz par. 23). Consequently, this politician has mature and developed visions and beliefs, and he is unlikely to use the power to pursue his own as opposed to the nation’s interests.

Secondly, since the information above denotes that Biden has sufficient personal strength to address the challenges, it is also reasonable to analyze his professional qualities. There is an opinion that the Democrats’ failure to have a majority in the Senate denotes that the future president will face significant political opposition, which will not allow him to achieve the desired results. However, Biden often states that he knows how to deal and find common ground with Republicans. For example, he repeatedly points “to his long relationship with McConnell as evidence” of the claim above (Balz par. 15). This information demonstrates that there are some reasons to believe that the future president will manage to mitigate the issues irrespective of how challenging it will be to oppose the former Trump administration members.

Thirdly, Biden’s attitude to his team also indicates that he will manage to overcome any obstacles. On the one hand, it refers to his role in promoting Senator Kamala Harris. It means that Biden makes specific efforts to help her become “the first Black and Asian woman to the vice presidency” (Balz par. 23). On the other hand, the president-elect has gathered a team of experienced and devoted policymakers to ensure that they all will help the nation recover after its existing issues. For example, Anthony Blinken, Biden’s nominee for Secretary of State, declared in one of his speeches that the US has a moral mission in the world (Murphy par. 10). Furthermore, a new Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines, ensured that her actions and words would follow the principles of truth (Murphy par. 10). This information denotes that the president-elect makes specific efforts to ensure that his team consists of experienced individuals who share his ideology and want to make the United States a better living place.

Finally, it is reasonable to draw attention to public opinion to identify what ordinary citizens think about Biden’s presidency. This step is significant because the wisdom of crowds is a suitable tool to predict future events. In this case, it is reasonable to consider the fact that Biden is going to run a nation that is figuratively divided into two parts. The first part believes that it is necessary to leave the Middle East and focus on domestic affairs (Stephens par. 7). People who share these views are direct supporters of Biden’s campaign, and they believe that the future president will cope with all the challenges. However, it is exciting to know that citizens who do not share Biden’s ideology describe him as an honest politician who is devoted to his nation (Balz par. 20). This fact denotes that large groups of the American population believe that Biden will manage to keep his election promise.

In conclusion, the paper has demonstrated that there are solid reasons to believe that Joe Biden will not ignore his message to heal the country after his inauguration ceremony. Even though the future president will deal with many challenges that will be left by the Trump administration, multiple issues indicate that Biden will try to solve them. These issues include Biden’s features, attitude to politics and his colleagues, ability to cooperate with political opponents, his ideology, and public opinion. The combination of all these points demonstrates that the president-elect has managed to create an image of an experienced politician and leader who has sufficient skills and abilities to run the nation. However, one should note that these issues do not guarantee that Biden will behave in the described manner, meaning that time will only reveal whether the ideas in the paper are correct.
